Registration is open now for Caz, which will take place August 4-10, 2024.

Classes will be announced Spring 2024 and all campers will be able to enroll at that time.

What will be the policy for refunds in the event public health requires cancellation of camp?

We will keep all registered campers updated with the latest information. If public health guidance requires significant changes or cancellation of camp, all deposits will be refundable minus an administrative fee of $100 per family.

What is your policy for refunds if a family cancels after registering?

If you cancel before May 15, your deposit will be refundable minus an administrative fee of $100 per family. Are scholarships available for Family Camp?

Yes, limited financial assistance is allocated every summer to families for whom full fees pose hardship. The application for financial aid is available this year within the registration process. If a family determines after having their application reviewed that they cannot afford camp at the aid level approved, they will be permitted to cancel and the administrative fee for cancellation will be waived.

We understand this type of all-inclusive family programming comes with a cost that can be inaccessible to groups who have been historically marginalized. This includes lower income families, Families of Color, families with members who live with disabilities, single parent families, and other often disenfranchised groups. With the generosity of donors, we are able to offer partial and full-scholarships in an attempt to make the camp experience accessible to all who wish to attend.

Can campers invite guests to join us?

Caz Family Camp encourages campers to invite friends and family to visit for performances.

Do I need to bring my own instruments to camp?

Generally, we are able to offer the opportunity to rent an instrument for a nominal fee, although the majority of campers bring their own instruments and amplifiers to camp. Please email info@cazfamilycamp.org to discuss if necessary.

What is the food like at camp? Can camp accommodate various dietary needs?

At Cazadero Performing Arts Family Camp we are fortunate to feast on fresh, local, and, whenever possible, organic food. Our kitchen staff will work with you to accommodate many dietary restrictions, but may not be able to meet all your needs. A auxiliary refrigerator is available for people with special diets. Please bring your own storage containers and label with your name.

What to bring to camp?

All campers will be emailed a packing list in the weeks leading up to camp. The packing list is a helpful resource, especially for first time campers! Please remember to bring a warm jacket, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a water bottle. And of course your instruments and amplifiers as needed for your assigned classes.

Other questions about Caz Family Camp

Are pets allowed at camp?

Pets are not allowed at camp. Here is information about bringing a service animal to camp.

Will there be internet or cell service at camp?

There is no wi-fi connection and limited cell reception. Many campers remark at how wonderful it is to be unplugged for a week, especially for family bonding.

What is the weather like at camp?

Daytime temperature can range from low to mid 50s in the morning to 70-80 in the afternoon. We recommend dressing in layers and bringing a good pair of walking shoes. Evenings are cool at camp; rain is a possibility in theory but is very rare. We advise sweaters, warm jackets and hats for outside evening performances and plenty of blankets or extra sleeping bags.
