Session A | Kid City Team
As legacy and tribute to our late leader, Rosemarie Richie, our youngest campers are enveloped in a world of creativity and exploration, guided by nurturing and experienced teachers. In the vibrant realm of Kid City, these caretakers cultivate a magical environment where imagination reigns supreme. Through playful activities, engaging stories, and hands-on experiences, our dedicated team, under the direction of Iris Deserio, works to make every child feels seen, heard, and cherished in their own little world under the redwoods.

Cory Reisbord
-
Cory has been teaching at Caz since her kids were little. Her hands are busy pretty much all the time and at Caz she teaches many different arts and crafts including knitting, book arts and textile arts.
-
What are artists really doing? How do you think like an artist? Why are art and science best friends? Why does it matter? If you think you’re not good at art (most people do think this!), this might be the perfect class for you. We will make art, and we will look at art, but more than anything we will unpick the idea of what art is and who gets to do it. This class is intended for the littlest campers, 5/6/7/8 years old, but adventurous adults will get their minds blown too! Real art for real kids. (Note: this will be a repeat of last year's class, not a continuation of it!) AGES: 6 AND UP
-
If you think Cory is just a nice cheerful foolish crafty lady, then take this class to see her other side! Bookbinding is technical and demanding and bookbinding is a lot of what she does professionally when she’s not at Caz. We will fold, punch and sew two text blocks and make them into beautiful hardcover books. You don’t need prior experience in bookbinding to flourish in this class, but you should probably be a person who likes tricky projects: baking bread, sewing, woodworking; the kind of thing where if you don’t do it right the bread doesn’t rise, the pants don’t fit, the chair falls apart when you sit on it. I will still be nice and cheerful, no fear, and we will make excellent, attractive handbound books, too. AGES 14 AND UP
-
It’s a powerful tool! Much like music theory in that many successful artists get by without knowing anything about it, color theory is a way of analyzing and sorting color that greatly enriches your understanding of what you’re doing when you work with color. You’re making decisions about color all the time: when you design a website, when you make a quilt, when you paint your bedroom, when you pick out a tie; color theory is incredibly useful for expanding your choices in all these situations. Often it’s taught in a pretty dry, vocabulary-dense way, but not at Caz! We’ll play games and conduct experiments to open our eyes and emerge with a deeper and more precise understanding of what we see and how we can use color with intention and pleasure. AGES 10 AND UP

Andrea Fuchillieri

Hola! Andrea Fuchilieri here, I am so happy to be at Caz with you!! I have been dancing all my life, starting with Ballet at 6, then Flamenco, Modern dance, Contact Improvisation, Swing, Salsa, Bachata, "Latin Rhythms" and Argentine Tango.
I am a proud mother of two teenagers Leo and Luna, (whom you will probably meet in Caz), an avid seeker of knowledge of our human form as the most wonderful instrument of communication with itself and others through movements and stillness.
I am certified instructor in Animal Flow, technique based in quadrupedal mobility, and MELT METHOD (Myofacial Energetic Length Technique) with focus on the fascia as it works with our internal fluids to gently rehydrate and heal the body. Studied somatics and body mind explorations with renowned coaches Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Liz Koch, Gil Hedley.
When pandemia closed all milongas and dance venues, I began dancing underwater, a world that has open my senses to so much information. The healing power of water, reminds us of our origins in the womb of our mother, I got so much into water that I completed FLOAT THERAPY certification, a body-mind-soul relaxation technique in warm water with Omer Shenar. And because you can't always have it warm (or I like extremes) I am a continuing exploring BREATHWORK and COLD WATER therapy following the Wim Hof Method. Currently I am a student of Kinesiology and Physiotherapy at Maza University, Argentina. Grateful to be here now. -
As all of life moves in rhythms, in this class we will explore, find and play with our own body rhythms first, we will learn how to do the Cha-Cha-Cha, have fun with Cumbia steps and spice it up a bit with Salsa dancing. AGES 13 AND UP

If you desire to be onstage during any of the events, fear not! I highly encourage it and we will only pull class members who are available for each event. I am also hoping this class will be a resource to those who have prop or scenic needs and we can operate as low level stagecraft for anyone needing ideas or extra hands to help fully flesh out their theatrical skits. Stage Blacks are required for this class. All that means is you will need black clothing to wear backstage, preferably a long sleeved top/jacket and pants.
